Points Shared After Hard-Fought Contest

This game always promised to be a tough encounter, and so it turned out to be! A topsy turvy game where we took the lead, went behind and then got back on level terms.

The opening exchanges were very quiet with both team having periods of possession without really creating any goal scoring chances. The first action of any note coming when our goalkeeper, Shemor Browne had to be alert to clear the ball from danger.

We took the lead with our first attack of the game on twelve minutes through the returning Cardinae Rennie who slotted the ball past the goalkeeper after being found by a perfectly weighted pass from Javis Jones.

Following the goal we went on the front foot with Jordan Deans having a goal ruled out for offside and then Leon Whyle going close with a long range effort that was tipped over the bar. It looked only a matter of time before we doubled our lead but we were pegged back in the 21st minute when D' Marco Pradel fired home into the roof of the net.

The next 20 minutes of the game saw us going close to regaining the lead on several occasions, but against the run of play it was Spartans who went in front when the impressive Kijel Robin found the net in the 41st minute.

The second period saw Leon Whyle going close to levelling the game in the 54th minute through another long range shot, closely followed by Kemari Gumbs and Cardinae having efforts going wide of the target.

We kept pushing forward and our hard work was rewarded when Kashawn Senior was on hand to score from close range when Cardinae's shot had come back off the cross bar.

The remainder of the game saw us having lots of possession and creating chances to grab all three points but we were denied by some resolute defending from our opponents meaning we were made to settle for a point.
