Uprising Hit Ten in Ruthless Performance

A commanding display throughout the 90 minutes saw the boys recording a club record 10-0 victory over Eagle Claw at the Raymond E. Guishard Technical Centre!

Somewhat surprisingly, despite dominating the ball in the early stages, clear cut chances were hard to come by, and we were limited to attempts at goal from distance. The turning point came in the 18th minute when Leon Whyle was brought down in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot, Leon stepped up to take the penalty himself and scored by placing the ball to the keepers right.

Following our opening goal, more chances started to come with Kashawn Senior, Rushane Brooks, and Jordan Deans all being denied by some decent saves by the opposition goalkeeper. However, our pressure told in the 30th minute when we doubled our lead through Jaiden Fleming who converted from close range on the rebound following another save by the Eagle Claw custodian.

Such was our dominance, our stand in goalkeeper, Tre The Cat Gumbs who was deputising for our regular number one, Shemor Browne, had only touched the ball once by the time we scored our second goal of the evening! We continued to push forward but couldn’t get another goal before the referee blew the whistle for half-time.

We started the second half on the front foot, and it only took five minutes for us to increase our lead with the goal coming from a stinging drive from 20 yards by Kashawn Senior. Two minutes later it was 4-0 with Kemari Gumbs scoring from close range after good work by Rushane Brooks. In a crazy spell we scored our fifth of the game on 55 minutes when Leon doubled his tally for the night!

It nearly became 6 on the hour mark, but Thierry Amorsinh’s goal was ruled out for offside, but that 6th goal did come just two minutes later when Kashawn grabbed his second of the game courtesy of another assist by Rushane. 6-0 quickly became 7-0 when Leon netted his hat-trick goal through a superb solo effort and then Rushane got in the act with a deserved goal to make it 8-0 with still 20 minutes of the game remaining!

We continued to push forward but it took until the 85th minute to increase our lead, but it was well worth the wait! Leon picked up the ball midway into the Eagle Claw half, drove forward and unleashed a thunderous shot from 25 yards which whistled into the back of the net! Goal of the night without a doubt!

As the clock ticked towards full time it looked like that would be the end of the scoring, but we were not to be denied due to birthday boy Kemari Gumbs grabbing his second of the night with the last kick of the game to cap off a quite amazing team performance!
