Four goals scored, zero conceded equals the perfect night in our Presidents Cup Group game victory over Spartans FC! This was a tremendous display of attacking football from start to finish where on another night we could scored double figures!
Despite our dominance, we had to wait until the 23rd minute when Kashawn Senior provided a neat finish to give the goalkeeper no chance of saving.
With our captain Javis Jones orchestrating the flow of play from an unaccustomed central defensive position, and our forward players looking a constant threat, we pushed on and doubled our lead on 30 minutes when Jordan Deans scored a early goal of the season contender when he expertly chipped the goalkeeper from the edge of the box. A truly wonderful goal!
Before the first half come to an end we had our goalkeeper, Shemor Browne to thank for a superb save just before the half time whistle, which would have been against the run of play, but would have made for a nervy second half.
The first 20 minutes of the second period were largely uneventful, but then the chances started to come again. In the space of only one minute, Cardinae Rennie had a shot saved, Rushane Brooks smashed a shot off the crossbar, and Leon Whyle saw an effort go narrowly wide of the target. Our pressure finally told when Kashawn Senior scored his second of the night in the 70th minute to give us a three goal lead which in reality made the game safe!
We continued with our fine forward play and made it 4-0 twelve minutes from time when great link up play between second half substitute Louis Jones and Rushane Brooks saw Rushane slipping the ball past the goalkeeper!
So, a super win sees us going into our final Presidents Cup group game next week against Lymers knowing that a similar performance will more than secure our place in the semi finals of the competition.
