FIRST WIN OF THE PRESIDENTS CUP 2024 – A RECORD WIN!

Our game against West End Predators on Tuesday 30th January, not only saw us recording our first win in this season’s Presidents Cup campaign but it also proved to be an historical night as by winning by 9 goals to 0, it meant that we recorded our record margin of victory in a single match since we were founded in 2015!
We completely dominated the game from the first whistle to the last and got the scoring underway in the 5th minute of play when Delani Francis found our recent signing from Eagle Claw, Tajay ‘Barber’ Johnson who scored his first goal for the club, finishing neatly from ten yards out. It was 2-0 just three minutes later when another recent signing, Keron Warner also netted his first goal for the club striking from the edge of the box after being found by some good work down the left by Jauron Gayle.
Jauron then went close to scoring on two occasions which was quickly followed by Tajay Johnson hitting the bar with a fierce shot! Several other chances came and went before captain, Javis Jones made it 3-0 with a low long-range effort which found the bottom corner of the near post. Shortly before half-time it was 4-0 and a first goal of the season for ‘The Anguillan Archer’ Jauron Gayle who provided a great finish from a tight angle.
Tajay hit the frame of the goal for the second time shortly before half-time which meant we went into the break with a four-goal lead.
Our young goalkeeper, Keronni Vanterpool was called into action for the first time in the game when in the 50th minute, he did well to punch the ball clear following a long free kick into our box. Four minutes later, Keron Warner grabbed his second, and out fifth goal of the night when he headed home a brilliant cross from the right wing by Delani Francis.
5-0 became 6-0 on 67 minutes when Jauron secured his second goal of the game which was again provided by some excellent work by Delani! ‘The Anguillan Archer’ then netted his hat-trick goal ten minutes later, this time being provided by a brilliant pass from the cultured left foot of Jordan Deans. Jordan himself then got on the scoresheet when he found the net with a long range shot before our Player/President, Tre Gumbs ended the scoring for the night with a vintage strike!
So, 9-0 it finished, an historic evening and we now look ahead to our decisive game against Diamond FC at the weekend!
Congratulations to the whole team and coaching staff for an exciting performance!
