Welcome to Uprising FC - Ignacio Ferreyra join our Media Team

All at Uprising Football Club are delighted to welcome a new member to our off the field team by the name of Ignacio Ferreyra.

Ignacio is a Graphic Designer and will be an important member of our media and marketing operations. We interviewed Ignacio upon his appointment to find out a little bit more about him.

Ignacio is 33 years old and was born in the capital city of Argentina - Buenos Aires which is where he lives today. Ignacio tell us that he knew that he wanted to be a Graphic Designer when he was younger and still at school. As well as being a Graphic Designer he is a Illustrator too and graduated from university at the age of 26.

Ignacio supports the famous Boca Juniors Football Club and plays football on a social level with friends at least once a week.

GT: When you were younger can you remember what one of your earliest designs that you created was and if so what was it?

IF: Actually one of the first things that I did was a photomontage (A Shark following a Deep Sea Diver) and then I designed a landscape.

GT: Did you ever envisage working for a football club and utilising the skills that you have?

IF: To be honest, no I didn't but I am so glad that I can work with you all.

GT: We are very pleased to have you with us. Going back to football in Argentina, you say that you are a Boca Juniors supporter, a very famous club indeed. Do you go and watch the team play and from people like me who only get to witness the atmosphere created by the supporters from afar, what is it like to actually be there in person?

IF: Yeah I've been in La Bombonera (stadium of Boca Juniors) and the atmosphere inside the stadium is crazy. The supporters can make a difference to the match by all of their singing and cheering. Unfortunately it has now been over one year since people have been allowed to attend games in the stadium due to the pandemic.

GT: I bet you can't wait to get back to watching your club. What are your favourite memories from watching Boca play over the years?

IF: Well, that would be the championships that we have won and all of the important matches. I was also able to watch Riquelme play for Boca, he is my favourite player and one of Boca Juniors idols.

GT: You also mentioned earlier that you play football once a week with your friends - have you have ever played competitive football before?

IF: I did play competitive football when I was younger but now I play for fun and hang out with my friends.

GT: Did you ever have ambitions to pursue football as a career or has Graphic Design and illustration always been the career path you wanted to follow?

IF: I think like everyone else when you are a kid and playing football that your dream is to become a professional player one day. But that all changed for me when I finished school and wanted to start studying and working. I have always loved drawing so I knew I wanted to become an illustrator and to do something related with that.

GT: And that has led to you joining our club which we are so grateful for. What would you say your ambitions are whilst you are working with us?

IF: To gain experience, get to know new people from another country and culture and doing one of the things that I love and to do that for a football club is amazing. I don't know what is going to happen in the future but I think working for Uprising FC is going to be important to me and my career.

GT: We look forward to having you with us on our journey Ignacio. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer the questions.

IF: Thank you Gareth - it was my pleasure.
